Specialist placements
Specialist foster care involves looking after children who need a higher level of support. This can be on a full or part time basis. Most of our specialist foster carers have been fostering for several years and have a high level of knowledge and expertise. Children who need specialist foster care will have experienced varied degrees of neglect, abuse, loss and disruption. Some of the children and young people may have lived in residential care. The children can present with a higher level of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, but with the right family, they can learn to trust, grow, develop and thrive.
